* Religious Persecution
Between the late 40's and 1950 all religious leaders in North Korea were either killed or imprisoned. The government created a class system and all "religons" fall under the grouping of "hostile" and are treated accordingly. Families that fell under those categories were sent to industrial areas or to prison camps. There are four store-front churches in the capital which are merely for show to visitors from other countries, with very few members that have been approved by the government. There is no such thing as religous freedom in North korea.
